    Description

    National Instruments PXI-8335 Interface Module
    The
    National Instruments PXI-8335
    (Part Number:
    777947-01
    ) is an
    Interface Module
with MXI-3 technology. The MXI-3 is a master/slave system that couples two physically apart buses with the help of a fiber-optic or copper-based data link. The
    NI PXI-8335
supports fiber-optic data linking and can offer up to 1.5 Gbit/s data transfer rate. With this MXI-3 enabled module, the user will be able to control a CompactPCI or PXI backplane through a PXI/CompactPCI host system. It also enables the user to increase the available number of PXI slots for their applications.
    The
    NI PXI-8335
is considered a viable device for physical separation of automation and measurement system form the host PC. Moreover, this module can be used for the combining of PCI, PXI, and CompactPCI devices in the one, single system. The
    MXI-3
allows the user to control PXI-PCI devices on up to 255 busses through any PCI-based system, provided that the BIOS installed supports that configuration.
    The
    National Instruments PXI-8335
offers the user with multiple-chassis expansion capabilities as well. The user can expand one chassis to two by merely plugging a
    PXI-8335
into any available peripheral slot of one chassis and another similar
    PXI-8335
module in slot 1 of another PXI chassis. This module can configure itself as primary or secondary by detecting its host slot. This model is similar to the NI PXI-8330 in specifications, but it comes with a fiber optic port, whereas the PXI-8330 uses a copper cable. With this module, the user will be able to achieve a total link length of 30 m.
